🥇 1. China 🇨🇳 — Huge potential, deep restrictions
🔹 Why it tops the list:
Srila Prabhupada expressed great eagerness to see Krishna consciousness flourish in China.
The people are intelligent, disciplined, and culturally receptive to spiritual ideas (such as karma, meditation, rebirth).
But strict government restrictions on religion have slowed expansion.
“If the Chinese people adopt Krishna consciousness, the whole world will follow.”
🥈 2. Japan 🇯🇵 — A land Srila Prabhupada personally desired
🔹 Why it ranks high:
Prabhupada visited Japan and invested in printing his books there.
Despite modern prosperity, Japanese society suffers from isolation, depression, and spiritual disconnection.
Interest in meditation and Eastern philosophy is growing — but there is little interest in ISKCON.
“The Japanese are sincere. If they understood Krishna consciousness, they would become first-class devotees.”
🥉 3. France 🇫🇷 — Once thriving, now in need of revival
🔹 Why it matters:
In the 70s and 80s, ISKCON had a vibrant presence in France (new Mayapur, book printing, preaching).
Over time, it faced internal challenges, scandals, and declining leadership.
Modern France is spiritually hungry, yet skeptical — perfect ground for thoughtful, in-depth outreach.
4️⃣ Bangladesh 🇧🇩 — Devotees struggling amid persecution
🔹 Why it matters:
📈 What is needed: Legal aid, security and economic support Temple infrastructure in vulnerable rural areas International speaking tours by Bangladeshi devotees to share their spirit 5️⃣ Turkey 🇹🇷 — Gateway between East and West Why it is strategic: Located between Europe and the Middle East, Turkey has a lot of youthful energy, spiritual pursuits and interest in yoga and meditation. But ISKCON’s presence is minimal, at risk due to the religio-political environment. 📈 What’s needed:
Discreet Krishna-katha gatherings and online content
Book translations and subtle cultural infiltration
Safe but bold devotee training programs
6️⃣ South Korea 🇰🇷 — Tech-driven yet spiritually thirsty
🔹 Why it’s a sleeping giant:
Like Japan, Korea is modern, efficient — and increasingly spirit-weary.
K-culture has spread globally, and ISKCON has barely tapped into this influence.
ISKCON has a small presence, though South Koreans are drawn to the clean lifestyle and deep meaning.
7️⃣ Brazil 🇧🇷 — High momentum, needs consolidation
🔹 Why it needs support:
Brazil has some of the most blissful, kirtan-loving devotees — but little infrastructure.
A vast country with a large urban population and a growing interest in spirituality.
8️⃣ Iran 🇮🇷 — Devotees living in hiding
🔹 Why it matters:
Bhaktas in Iran are brave, deep and willing to risk their lives for Krishna devotion.
They worship in secret, often without a physical temple or support.
Online outreach is a lifeline, but there is risk, too.
9️⃣ Italy 🇮🇹 — culture-rich but dormant
🔹 Why it matured:
Italy has a beautiful Vedic community (Villa Vrindavan) but little urban visibility.
As Europe’s Catholic bastion now struggling with secularism, it is an open field for fresh spiritual language and devotional knowledge.
🔟 Australia 🇦🇺 — Strong foundation needs new energy
🔹 Why it’s on the list:
Srila Prabhupada personally invested in Australia—opening temples, installing deities and commemorating the initial visit.
But today, book distribution has declined and preaching has slowed.
