Srila Prabhup\u0101da, the Founder-\u0100c\u0101rya of ISKCON, established a spiritual society with a clear mission: to systematically propagate spiritual knowledge and bring humanity to the life of devotional service. With prophetic clarity, he laid down the foundations \u2014 temples, publishing, food distribution, education, and farm communities \u2014 all aligned with the teachings of Lord Caitanya Mah\u0101prabhu and the parampar\u0101.<\/p>\n

But Srila Prabhup\u0101da also warned us: “Don\u2019t change anything unnecessarily. But if you find a system is not working, improve it \u2014 with spiritual intelligence.”<\/em> Over the decades, many devotees have asked: Are we still aligned with his vision? Or have some systems drifted from their original intent?<\/em><\/p>\n

Here is a sincere and reflective ranking of ISKCON systems that many believe need reform \u2014 not to criticize<\/strong>, but to realign more closely with Srila Prabhup\u0101da\u2019s uncompromising vision.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\ud83e\udd47 1. Guruship and Succession Clarity<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Perhaps the most sensitive and discussed area needing reform is the system of initiation and spiritual authority.<\/strong> Prabhup\u0101da did not create a hierarchical caste of gurus \u2014 he wanted qualified, humble, selfless devotees to act as spiritual guides.<\/p>\n

However, over time, power dynamics, prestige, and misunderstandings about guru-tattva have occasionally led to unhealthy centralization, guru fall-downs<\/strong>, and disillusioned disciples<\/strong>. Many feel that the system needs to be refined to ensure that the process of becoming a guru reflects Prabhup\u0101da\u2019s standards<\/strong>: genuine realization, not ambition<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\ud83e\udd49 3. Devotee Care and Mental Well-being<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Srila Prabhup\u0101da was extremely compassionate to his disciples \u2014 concerned not just about their chanting, but their health, mood, finances, and inner well-being<\/strong>. In some temples today, however, devotee care may still take a back seat to performance or \u201cservice output.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mental health, burnout, neglect of aging devotees, and lack of financial security are real concerns in some areas. Prabhup\u0101da said, \u201cWe must become a happy family.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
