Ranked: The Morning Program Elements You Never Skip Because of Srila Prabhupada

🥇 1. Srila Prabhupada’s Mangala-arati Prayer (Namas te…sri-guru-charanaravindam)

“The spiritual master is to be respected first, even before the deity.”

✨ Why I don’t skip it:

These prayers connect me directly to Prabhupada’s lotus feet, reminding me that this is not my movement – it is His gift.

Hearing the chanting of “samsara-daavanal-lidha-loka…” in His voice immediately draws my heart to service.

Skipping it would feel like ignoring the one who gave me Krishna.

🥈 2. Chanting (minimum 16 rounds)

“Your real success in spiritual life will be determined by how seriously you chant your rounds.” —Srila Prabhupada

✨ Why I never skip it:

No matter how chaotic life gets, those 16 beads are the thread of my existence.

I remember Srila Prabhupada chanting 64 beads before initiating others, and he lowered the standard for us—but not the importance.

Every bead is a lifeline, a reconnection, a small victory over the mind.

🥉 3. Sri Sri Guruva-ashtak (Mangala-arati Kirtan)

“Without the mercy of the spiritual master, one cannot progress.”

✨ Why I always attend:

These 8 verses by Visvanatha Chakravarti Thakura are direct glories of the guru, which fit Prabhupada exactly.

They remind me that devotion is earned—not attained.

When sung early in the morning, it creates a spiritual atmosphere that you can feel in your bones.

4️⃣ Tulsi Aarti
“Tulasi-devi is very dear to Krishna.”

✨ Why I can’t skip it:
Srila Prabhupada personally instructed me to sing this song every morning.

It reminds me that devotion grows out of compassion, and Tulsi-devi is the mother of that compassion.

Dancing around her feels childlike, joyful, and pure—a moment of sweetness in a disciplined morning.

5️⃣ Srimad-Bhagavatam Class
“My only request is that you read my books every day.”

✨ Why it’s important:
Listening to the Bhagavatam in the morning is like a spiritual breakfast—without it you won’t be able to last until noon.

Even 15 minutes of reading reminds me why I’m doing everything else.

Prabhupada wanted daily listening as the backbone of community and personal growth.

6️⃣ Narasimha Prayer
“Sri Narasimha, please protect the devotees.”

✨ Why I treasure it:
The protection is not just physical – it is mental, emotional, spiritual.

These prayers are short but powerful, and I remember Prabhupada saying that devotees are always protected by the Lord.

Also: It ends the morning program with strength and dedication.

7️⃣ Srila Prabhupada Puja/Guru-puja
“We must worship the spiritual master every day.”

✨ Why I treasure it:
When I offer flowers to Prabhupada or sing “Sri-Guru-Charana-Padma,” I feel intimately connected to his presence.

It is an opportunity to thank him for another day of chanting, service, and deliverance.

8️⃣ Sri Sri Shikshashtakam Text (optional but powerful)

“Victory to Sri Krishna Sankirtana!”

✨ Why I include this often:

These verses are the direct teachings of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, and Srila Prabhupada based our entire practice on them.

Just reciting “Trinaad api sunichen…” every day resets my ego and expectations.
